The Roman Map of Britain Maridunum Tagsaliorum, Cullykhan, Grampian or Marcodunum Tagsaliorum, Dun-Da-Lamh, Highland?
Marcotaxon Tagea Voran (R&C 225-227) next
Cullykhan (NJ8366)
Iron age promontory fort in the region ascribed to the Taexali by Ptolemy.
Dun Da Lamh, Laggan, Badenoch and Strathspey (NN582929)
Also known as Black Craig, a promontory fort of vitrified stone variously
described as Iron age or Pictish. RCAHMS simply gives the type of site as
'Fort'. It is located opposite and above the juncture of Markie Burn with
the River Spey. A Marcodunum Tagsaliorum is possible, though one would
expect this to be in the territory of the Vacomagi.
This is the last of this section, next are the diversa loca.
