Litinomago has the potential for emendation to Utinomago, Ietinomago, Ictinomago and Itinomago. The River Ythan is recorded as aqua de Ethoyn 1373 and Ithane 1477. Watson considered Ythan to be the same as Ieithon of Radnor and Shropshire, based on Br *iecto 'speech'.
