The Roman Map of Britain Iladone Auchinhove, Muiry Fold, or Burnfield

Lodone (R&C 213) for Iladone, the initial I was taken to be a text divider (/) and discarded. next

Three Roman camps initially qualify for the name, Auchinhove (NJ4651)and Muiryfold (NJ4852) on the River Isla, and Burnfield (NJ5447) opposite its junction with the River Deveron. The position in the Ravennas is of little help in further refining the assignment. Iladone is listed between Tuessis (R&C 212), Bellie and Litinomago 214 Glenmailen. The river-name Isla is recorded as Strathylaf 1187. The River Helmsdale (Ptolemy's Ila), flowing through Strath Ilidh, is an identical name as noted by Johnston.
