This Roman settlement at Braughing developed on a pre-existing Iron-age settlement. It is situated on the River Quin where it branches from the River Rib. The name Quin is a back-formation from Quinbury. EPNS 190 Dassells Derkeshale  Cf. ERN128 Dork.  Margary 2 at Margary 32.
