The Roman Map of Britain Alauna Low Learchild, Northumberland

Alauna (R&C 187) next
Alauna Alauna (Ptolemy II 3 7) a polis of the Votadini

Ptolemy's Alauna of the Votadini follows Coria and is omitted in most manuscripts. An Alauna of the Damnonii is listed a few lines earlier following Curia. Presuming dittography, the propriety of the entry has been questioned, even though it has different co-ordinates, a reasonable assignment, and a match in the Cosmography. Perhaps a scribe thought the same and deleted the Alauna of the Votadini from that branch.

Low Learchild (NU1011) is on the Devil's Causeway (M87 and M88) overlooking the junction of Coe Burn and the River Aln  fluuium Alne ca. 730.
