The location of AI's Clausentum at Bitterne is traditional. The defective transmission of Iter VII precludes a firm assignment based solely on the AI text. The Ravenna Cosmography does offer an answer by way of naming the alternate contender Wickham as Maionio (R&C 30). By default Clausentum, if that is the correct form, is Bitterne (SU4313).
